Dear Friend,
What an amazing year it has been and I thank God for the work He is doing in my life. I have been attending Rock Bridge Community Church for about two years now. During that time I have grown closer to Christ and even started serving in multiple ministries at Rock Bridge.
Recently I have sensed God prompting me to go on a mission trip to Haiti. While there our team will have the opportunity to share the love of Christ. Our team will be helping to rebuild, give out food, build relationships with the people of Haiti and to just show the love of God. We will be in partnership with Ed Lockett of Missionary Ventures International. Ed has been working in Haiti for more than 15 years. He can speak their language, and he has great respect by the people of Haiti. This will play a role in the impact we will be able to make.
The trip is from January 22nd – 29th, 2011. I am prayerfully seeking to raise financial support for this trip. Your prayers and any financial support you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Your gift not only enables me to participate in God’s global work but it will also help make Jesus’ love a reality for others. Please let me know if you have any questions. You can reach me at:
Cell: (706) 980-8423 / E-mail: jimmy@rockbridge.cc / or, find me on Facebook
If you can provide financial support, checks should be made payable to Rock Bridge Community Church with “MISSIONS” on the memo line. Please do not put my name on your check. This ensures your gift is tax-deductible. Feel free to mail any financial support to me:

I am looking forward to this opportunity of a lifetime to make a difference in other people’s lives as God has made in mine. Thank you for your friendship, love, and prayers.
Sincerely in Christ,
Jimmy Densmore

Fear
Fear can make us do crazy things. It can also make us not want to do things as well. Fear can cause us to worry about things we have no control over, and it can make us fear the future. It can even make us fear what God has called us to do.
Me and Nicole were talking about fear and doubt last night. Before we knew it we had spent an hour and a half talking and reading the bible. It was an amazing time! God took us through many verses in the bible, and showed us some miraculous things. One in particular I want to share.
Jesus was sent to earth as God, but as God in a man. Jesus still had flesh just as we did. I never thought Jesus got afraid about anything until we came across Mark 14, where Jesus was praying to God in the Garden of Gethsemane. To rewind, oh back to about Genesis 3, Jesus already knew that what he was about to do is what God had planned since the Fall. In case you never have noticed it, here is the verse in Genesis 3:14,15;
14 So the LORD God said to the serpent: “ Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed;

15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
But in the garden as Jesus is praying to God, he says in Mark 14:36;
36 And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”
But in the garden as Jesus is praying to God, he says in Mark 14:36;
36 And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”
Abba (Daddy), Take this cup away from Me. Jesus is scared. He doesn't want to do this. But, He knows the will of God is not his will, that's why he asked God to take this cup away from him.
Maybe it would be easier to understand if put this way.
Picture Jesus in the garden, on his knees. Crying tears of blood, and then him saying this;
Daddy. Father. You.....You can get me out of this. I am scared of what I am about to suffer. But Daddy, take this cup from me, for if my will be done, I would not go through with it. But, Your will is not mine. So again, please take this cup from me so that Your will be done.
When I realized what Jesus was praying here, all I could say was wow.
We are all called by God to do things in life. God has plans for us all. Maybe it is leading a small group at church, going on a mission trip, volunteering or giving when times are hard. Fear can set in at these points in your life. We start to doubt, is this what God is really calling me to do? If it is what God is asking me to do, then why do I fear?
Plain and simple. Fear is a condition of the flesh, fear is sin. What scares us is radical obedience to God. Relying on God's understanding, and not our own. Jeremiah 29:11 says;
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
There is our assurance! Take this verse and apply it to your daily life. Live for God in a radical way, because he already has plans for you. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.
God said he will never give us more than we can handle, but He will break you. He will bring you to your knees, to the point where your only option is to call on Him.

Psalm 139
Psalm 139:23,24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
I could go on about how these verses impacted me when I read them, but, I would rather you hear if from The Skit Guys. Then, you decide what they mean to you.
God Bless!

Really????
This is an actual Facebook post that someone I know posted yesterday:
Why can we as Americans send money and aid all over the world yet We refuse to help our on people,children are starving here in your town. Reach out to your neighbors you may be suprised that they are in need of help.
Then, wait for it, this is how someone else responded to it:
Because it gives them a warm fuzzy feeling to say that they helped out a poor country while they are poor people in our own country that are in hungary and hurting.
OK. I have just a few things to say about this. For starters, do you not read the bible? Matthew 28:18-20 says:
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations! Our nation, America, is a truly blessed country. The problem with Americans is that they are spoiled in their luxuries. Did you know that even a person here in America only making 10,000 dollars a year is in the top 2% of the wealthiest people in the world?
We say that we should keep our money and our time over here, but don't realize that even one dollar that we have here can do miracles in other countries who live in poverty.
I understand that there are people and children in our own country hurting, but what makes me upset about it is that everyone in America is looking for a handout. You give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. You teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. Therein lies the problem with Americans. They don't want to learn. They don't want to help themselves. They want handouts.
Other countries where we give our time and money don't have the luxury of money or education to survive. When we go over there, we don't just give them money and say, Good Luck. We teach them to grow gardens, how to rebuild, how to make money, and to survive. Because unlike most Americans, they want to make a life for themselves. Not have someone else make it for them. They want to learn, they want to survive. Maybe I am just rambling, but, I know what the bible says. And the bible is my guiding light. What's yours? Your luxuries? Your wants? Your desires?
Get your priorities in line.

Going to Haiti
I am reading the book "Radical" by David Platt right now. Every since I picked up this book, I have been radically transformed in my view of what it means to be a Christian. I have always felt that the way I served God was enough to get by; enough to be considered a good Christian in the eyes of God. I feel I give more time to the church than the usual member, that I sacrifice more than the usual member, that I tithe more than the usual member. But however, this book was a gut check to me. A direct slap in the face of what I thought was leading a good life in Christ.
The big questions I have been asking myself lately is, "What now?". "Where do I go now from this point in time with my walk with Christ?" "What can I do to grow as the Christ follower that God has called us all to be?"
Matthew 28:18-20, otherwise know as the Great Commission:
18: Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20: and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. I do believe that is self explanatory.
I have been thinking a lot lately about this verse and how that pertains to me. I have been lost in the thinking of how modern day Americans perceive what this verse means, and am quickly realizing how truly wrong it is. You hear people say that, "It takes a special person to be a missionary" or that "I could never see myself doing that". Honestly, these are phrases that I have told myself time and time again. What about, "We have enough issues here in America to worry about, let someone else worry about others over there."
Well, if that is the case, then we are not fulfilling the Great Commission. Which Jesus clearly said, "Go and make disciples of ALL nations."
A lost soul is a lost soul. It doesn't matter where you are, or where that person is from; lost is lost. How do we expect for the lost in these other nations to ever fully hear the Word of God? Who will take it to them? Who will put aside their selfish ways, and give their all to deliver the Word of God?
Therefore GO.....
I will take the Lord at his command. So I am going to GO.
January 22-29, 2011.
I have signed up to join a missionary team from Rock Bridge Community Church. We are going to Haiti to make disciples, to help rebuild, and to help change lives through the Lord. I am super stoked about this opportunity that God has led me to!
I am asking that everyone please pray for me as I prepare to embark on the journey with the Lord. I am needing to raise the money for me to be able to go. I am having to raise $1000 dollars to pay my way. I have certain individuals that I am going to approach about funding for this trip. I would ask that if anyone is interested in helping me get there, the Lord would bless you for doing what you can. The Lord has blessed me with miraculous people in my life, and I know that they will help in many ways than one. On a lighter note, I have never flown before, so please pray for that. : /
I am going to be getting into the Word more and praying more as time draws near for our team to leave. Pray for me that the Lord will give me insight and knowledge into what I need before we leave. I would greatly appreciate your prayers, and your support in any way possible.
Thank You All!!!
I Love You All!!
God Bless!!
